Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) supports the installation with activities and events sponsored by the community and as directed by the Post Commander and Command Sergeant Major. Assists in managing Commander’s and mobilizing units MWR events. MWR also serves as liaison between mobilizing and demobilizing entities and the Installation for MWR requests. These requests include use of assets for recreational purposes. Liaison between soldiers stationed at Camp Shelby and the community, pertaining to ticketed events and catered events, honoring the military. In addition, MWR organizes, plans, and coordinates the Annual Retiree Day, directly supporting the requests of the Adjutant General and the Mississippi National Guard as well as serving as MWR POC for mobilizing units to obtain funding.
