The Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is a 4-year program consisting of a 2-year BASIC course and a 2-year ADVANCED course, typically taken during college.
Individuals will receive credit for the ROTC BASIC course by successfully completing one of the following:

Military Science I and Military Science II (MS I/II) in an approved ROTC high school or college program

ROTC BASIC Camp

Initial Active-Duty Training (IADT), to include both BASIC Training (BT) and ADVANCED Individual Training (AIT) (For more information from the 1800goguard.com website, click here.)

Obtain a commission as a Second Lieutenant through the Army ROTC program. This option is known as the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP).
